Shawn walked up to the Avengers Mansion, he had heard somewhere that they were taking applications, and after weighing in the pros and cons he had decided to go ahead and try.
Aside from the paycheck members of the avengers were rumored to have, Shawn would also hopefully be able to get a look at their files, which would aid in his search for like powered individuals to form his own team. Not to mention the fact that he may be able to get a pardon for his actions in Washington (Destroying the construction site, then escaping from prison.) Well that is when he decided to reveal his true identity instead of the alias he went by nowadays.
Shawn walked into the door and saw the woman busy with paper work. Asmodeus moved around a bit before settling across his shoulders.
"Umm I came here to apply for membership in the Avengers?"

Moonstone looks up.
She has the file for her 10'O clock in her hands. And yet the photo therein, does not match the man standing before her. How this man knew that the Avengers were looking for new members is a minor mystery.
"What do you call yourself," she asks.
His answer confirmed her suspicions. This man is off S.H.I.E.L.D.'s radar altogether.
Of course, being a bit of a maverick Moonstone hardly cares about such mundane details. The mere fact that this man is here at all has piqued her interest.
"Ok Sahara, show me why they call you that."

The mutant known as Sahara nodded and started to concentrate. The temperature of the room rose to about a hundred degrees farenheit. The the wind started picking up. It swirled through the room, picking papers off the desk. Shawn caught them out of the air, and set the papers back on the desk. As he did this the wind died down and the temperature dropped to about twenty degrees, he let it stay there a while then he raised it to the temperature it was when he walked in.
Essentially I am the living embodiment of the desert. Aside from what I demonstrated, I can also control desert animals and plants, mimic their powers, and survive indefinately without food or water.
He wondered if his demonstration was too extreme. On the flip side he also wondered if he would be counted as worthy to join Earth's mightiest heroes.

"hmm. it must be nice having your own personal climate control huh?"
Perusing the still settling papers upon her desk, Moony takes one in particular and hands it to Sahara with a wink.
"Indulge me for a minute. Answer one at a time and out loud plz."
The page reads:
'What makes you wish to join the Avengers?'
'What is the extent of your experience in the crime-fighting field?'
'It is a hostage situation. A man who may or may not have a gun is held up in a house with a small child and threatens to kill the child if anyone enters the house, what do you do? What if the hostage is an adult? What if the hostage happens to be a criminal in their own right?"

"I would like to use my powers to help those in need, though I also hope I will get a pardon for the destructive way my mutation manifested." He wasn't sure whether or not he should have included that last part, but he was being honest.
"I've stopped a few muggings I have encountered, but other than that not much." He moved around to much to really catch any crimes.
The last question was tough though. Shawn had to think about it. "Well I suppose I'll send Asmodeus here inside then, copying the powers of a desert chameleon and leopard gecko I'll crawl around the building incognito. Once we reach the room, him on the inside myself on the outside Asmodeus would bite the criminal, I would come in and administer the anti-dote.
Though depending on the layout of the house and the specifics of the perpetrator, I could also temporarily blind him with a sand storm, pin him to the wall with cactus spikes, or a number of other things, though I would probably send in the snake to scout out the situation first, before making any decisions. And I would probably make the same decision who ever the hostage is." He wondered how his answers would sit with the woman interviewing him.

You're in!
OOC: sorry for the brevity but since the SAA/renegades thing is going on the avengers are likely going to take a backseat. If you want in you're in. W/e u like. And I don't speak for all the avengers (crickets?) so who knows ....could be an interesting ripple down the road.

"Thank you!" Shawn Scott shook the woman's hand and stood up. "So do the Avengers stay here or do they have their own places?" It was a legitimate question, and Sahara wondered what the answer would be.
